Smoke detector alarms in public areas

Smoke detectors have been installed in the common areas of the building. The purpose of the alarms is to warn the occupants of the building of an incipient fire by sounding an alarm. The alarms DO NOT notify the emergency services.

If you hear the alarm in the stairwell sounding continuously, it is likely that a fire has started and you should also act as follows. ALERT NEIGHBORS - if there is no smoke in the stairwell yet and it is safe to leave, prepare to leave the building If THERE IS SMOKE IN THE STOREY OR OTHER PUBLIC AREAS, CALL 112 - if there is smoke in the stairwell: - stay in your apartment - close the door and the intermediate door - seal the door gaps, for example with a wet towel - go near a window or balcony and make yourself visible to the rescuers, report your situation to 112 SAMMUTA - if possible, carry out initial extinguishing PUT RESCUE PERSONNEL ON THE SITUATION To speed up rescue operations, you can call the property management company.
